The
silver rounded floppy cable. As you will see from the
case pictures it doesn't quite make it to the floppy drive.
This is because the Abit KR7A-133 motherboard places the
floppy connector pretty far to the right. Make sure to measure
the length from the mothboard connector to the drive so you
get the correct cable size. |
 |
The
silver rounded ATA / 133 Cable. The cable measures a mere
16 inches which should be more than enough to reach any drive
in your case. |
 |
This
is a picture of my case before the rounded cables. You
can see how they cluster around the front case fan. The
rounded cables will definitely improve airflow. |
 |
This
is a picture of the case with the rounded cables in use. The
area around the fan no longer hinders airflow plus and the cables
look much better than those standard cables. You
can also see where the floppy cable doesn't quite make it to
the drive. Whoops. |
Conclusion:
Rounded cables
may help improve the airfllow in your case and are definitely more
stylish than standard cables. You will read many reports
on the Internet that claim that these cables are "aerodynamic"
or that they will improve cooling by several degrees; you should
ignore those. If you like the look of pre-made rounded
cables then you should definitely should get some. Rounded
cables will look great in any windowed case. The cooling benefits
of rounded cables are negligible; if you want to improve cooling
performance throw some Artic Silver 3 on everything and add a few
fans. ;)
Pros:
Stylish
Flexible
Space-saving
Cons:
Pricey (Compared to generic cables)
Little to No Cooling Benefits
