You are using an extremely old version. Upgrade support for this version has been removed in the latest versions; you will have to do this in two steps. Download an older version of NewsPro, and follow these instructions. Once that version is installed, return here again to download the latest version and complete the upgrade. You will be able to upgrade without losing any news data or news style
customizations, except for any in npconfig.pl. If you have a heavily
customized npconfig.pl, you should be able to convert it manually quite
easily, using the version of npconfig.pl included in the ZIP file as a
guide. You must upload the following files: - newspro.cgi - viewnews.cgi - npconfig.pl - viewnews.tmpl - nplib.pl - npa_add.pl Do not upload any other files (especially NOT npconfig.dat) as that will cause loss of news data/settings. Once you have uploaded all necessary files, run NewsPro from your web browser. You should be presented with an upgrade screen - follow the instructions that are given. Once you arrive at NewsPro's main page, click Build News. You will see one final upgrade screen; follow the instructions again. Once complete, NewsPro has been fully upgraded. |
