Addons

These addons are, unless otherwise stated, compatible only with the latest version of NewsPro. All official and a couple of third-party addons are listed, though many more third-party addons are available via the sites linked further down.

To install one of these addons, download the file and unzip its contents. Upload the contents into your NewsPro directory. You do not need to CHMOD the file, but it does have to uploaded in ASCII mode. NewsPro should automatically recognize and load the addon. IMPORTANT: To use many of these addons, you may have to enable them after installing them via Advanced Settings. If after installing an addon its use is not apparent, go to Advanced Settings and read through the options.

Official Addons

These addons are released under the same license as NewsPro. (The most important condition is that redistribution is not permitted.)

Addon Manager 1.01 - Included in the NewsPro zip file, it displays all installed addons along with upgrade information.

News Categories 1.1 - Maintains multiple categories of news, and generates multiple .txt files, each highly and individually configurable.

E-Mail Notification 1.02 - Allows you to maintain a mailing list, and send e-mail either every time a news item is posted, or in batches.

Netcenter Channel 1.01 - Creates an RSS (RDF Site Summary) 0.9 file containing your 5 latest news items. This file will allow you to add your news as a "channel" to sites such as Netscape's Netcenter.

NewFiles 1.1 - Creates a listing of recently modified files in a specific directory.

News Preview 1.2 - Allows you to preview the style of your news items before submission.

Change Date 1.0 - Allows news items to be posted with a date other than the current one.

Third-Party Addons

These addons are distributed from this site, but were written by different people. We are not affiliated with these people, and we can't provide support for the addons below. The addons below are released under the Third-Party Addon License.

kTalk 2.0 - Allows users to post comments about your news items on a public talkback page. The previous version, 1.0, is still available.

HTML Builder 1.0 - Adds shortcut buttons to your Submit News page which allow you to quickly enter some common HTML tags.

SpellCheck 1.0.1 - Checks the spelling of news items before submission.
