ATI grasped sponsorship of the QuakeCon big ID software network "shoot me in the head" event and exposed the Radeon 9700 Pro as the "official card" of this event. Apart from that, ATI also managed to become seated on the "right hand" of ID software when that little company showed its up and coming title, Doom 3.

And yes, Nvidia is about to hit back hard. Even though the Nvidia folk are not in official papers that we received two weeks before the event from the organizers, Graphzilla will be at stand 1240 and claims it will unveil the first ever European Unreal 2003 death match tournament.

This will be the first ever showcase of the game that EPIC shows to the European press – and other flown in from around the world -- so the attendees can play the games they want.

The good thing is that regular visitors will be able to play in two separate tournaments on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th.
