Introduction:
The VIA KT333 chipset had been
unofficially released for over a month and thousands of motherboards
hard already been produced. There was a known STR-Bug in the
chipset and it was rumored that when VIA officially launched their
new chipset that it would be a modified version of the KT333, the
KT333A. The KT333A was said to include DDR333 support,
V-link 512, AGP 8x, and USB 2.0. On February 20th, however,
VIA officially introduced the KT333 chipset to everyone's surprise.

There
are very few hardware differences between the two chipsets but the
added support for DDR333 and the new South Bridge and North Bridge
allow better performance than the KT266A.
